[WriteLog] Vers 10.23 crashed with serial Mouse

I tried replacing my PS2 mouse with a serial mouse on 
Com1 which has its own IRQ and is not used by WriteLog.
When I start WriteLog my system crashes too.  I'm using
version 10.22 and Windows 98se.  Does anyone have WriteLog
working with a serial mouse?  If so what is your setup?
