Not sure if you are still assuming that you can only feed afsk audio to
Packet din connector or not.

You CAN feed audio to the front panel mic connector or to the rear panel
Patch In jack. Either of these work for low level afsk signals. The Packet
Data In bypasses the mike amplifer stage and so may require somewhat
greater signal level from the sound card. The DVS input is also active but
requires some external enable signals when the DVS option is not used. All
of these inputs come together at the mike volume control stage. If you will
dig out the circuit diagram you can trace this out in the AF-UNIT box.
