Kevin,
Yes it will work but you need to include a 'standard' LPT1 keying circuit to
drive your circuit.  That circuit is also documented in the help files.  It
inverts the active high keying signal from the LPT1 port to an NPN keying
transistor to provide the needed input to your level shifter.  (Lots of
words but a very simple circuit).  Holler if you need more information.
