Pete,

Don't worry about it!

DXTelnet is a client terminal, and it doesn't work as a Telnet Server.
On the other hand, windows (even Windows 2000) is not an Operating System
(OS) based for remote connections. The Telnet was based initially for
Mainframes or Hosts based on OS as Unix, AIX, or actually as Linux. Those
OS's allow remote connections for login, and support multi sessions. When a
user is logon, he can run any OS command or aplication, Shutdown the system
and so on. Other mainframes as IBM has a similar terminal support, called
3270.

It means, that a user connected remotely to a Host, can made what their
account privileges allow to do,
	i.e. "root"  -> Full features

Windows was not designed for a multi-user session logon, and no remote
commands can be processed. All those previous comments are referenced to the
OS possibilities.

Of course, you can download from Internet or install from a floppy/CD, a
program that can include a "trojan" or "worm", and it will open a back door
at your system. Some of those trojans, open a pseudo-Telnet server at your
computer, and any remote station can access to your computer. But this is
done because the trojan program, not because Windows supports this feature.

So, definitively.... No. DXTelnet is a Terminal emulation, and never acts as
a open door to your windows computer.

What are the security aspects involved with the DX Telnet program? Typical
plain vanilla telnet programs present a wonderful opportunity for a hacker
to access your PC and if you are networked, any other machines on the
network.

Gil, have you read about it? Of course you can, Juan - See
www.qsl.net/wa9als/dxtelnet.htm
for details. Once you start DX Telent, it will export spots to both DX4WIN
and DX Telnet or BOTH at the same time. This is possible because of the
DUPER program included with DX Telnet. There's no need to reconfigure
anything each time either. It's great! 73 - John (WA9ALS)
