[WriteLog] how do you prevent mode change

Trying to work a few in the WAE.
Using a FT1000MP with WL.
But sometime when clicking on a spot on the bandmap or in the spot window it
makes the MP switch to cw mode as the dx freq. is in the US cw band.
How do I prevent this?
I must be missing something obvious.
