[WriteLog] strange problem with WriteLog on Windows 2000

This probably has nothing to do with the described problem, but I'm going to
mention it anyway.  I don't know about you guys, but I don't check the
Microsoft site as often as I should.  WIN2000 users should be aware that
there is now a Service Pack 3 available.  I'm not aware of any issues with
WIN2000SP2, but I think we should strive to stay up to date with our OS.

I'm running WL 10.34B here under the latest W2K and it works fine. I trust
your COM1 is a built-in motherboard port and not an add-on card or USB port.
If that's not the case, let us know.
