That's a good idea.  You'll probably find that any wheel mouse with a thumb
button can have any button programmed to your liking.

I use the wireless Mouse/Keyboard combo from Logitech.
The mouse has a feature that some of you may like.
It has a little button positioned where your right hand thumb would rest.
I programmed that button to send F8, which is my contest CQ message.

I found it VERY comfortable and convenient.
I don't think you can program it send the + key nor 'INSERT' keys.
