[WriteLog] FT-1000MP and fsk

I know this is in the middle of a contest, but I need help with my =
1000MP.  I am using the fsk jack in the back with my Hal P38 rtty modem. =
 My alc is beyond the normal range.  The manual says to use the mic gain =
to control the alc setting and then adjust the PO.  The mic gain seems =
to have no function.  I am in the rtty (lsb) mode.  I have made some =
contacts in the contest today, but I don't want to damage the modem or =
the rig.
