[WriteLog] Serial Ports AGAIN!

Speaking of which, what does the ,x mean after the entries of the com
ports...See below.

This is the way mine look ??

Also I am using an ST-8000 (dumb terminal) for RTTY. It does not use
9600,n8,1,x. When the program is running does it overwrite the .ini file ?
(It runs at 45,n,5,0)

Thanks

|
| Jim,
|
| Have you included the magic lines in %SYSTEM%\WRITELOG.INI?
|
| [PORTS]
| COM1:=<speed>,8,n,1,x   #
| COM2:=<speed>,8,n,1,x   #  Define ports/speeds
| COM3:=<speed>,8,n,1,x # These are the port numbers used
| COM4:=<speed>,8,n,1,x   #  for RTTY Terminal Units and/or
| COM5:=<speed>,8,n,1   #  Packet TNCs
| COM6:=<speed>,8,n,1   #
| CommSlot1=3           |  Define radio control ports
| CommSlot2=4 | These are the ports that will be
| CommSlot3=5 | used for rig control (and serial
| CommSlot4=6 | port CW) on the Port Setup menu
|
|
| In addition, are the additional serial ports properly installed
| in the Windows Registry? If the add-on port card was installed
| after Writelog, it is possible that Writelog hasn't registered
| the extra ports (I think you can run "comreg.exe" in your
| Writelog Programs directory ... but check with the experts to
| be sure).
|

|
|    ... Joe, K4IK
|
| PS. Put your ST-8000 on COM1: or COM2: as many add on cards
| have problems with (do not support) 5-bit codes.
