One thing you might do with them is learn linux.  Almost everything that
runs on linux is free, and there are some amazingly good programs
available.  The OS can be downloaded for free (Bill G. are you
listening?) but people with a dial-up connection most likely will buy
the disks.  I got my set of three Mandrake 8.2 disks for $1.50 on ebay
(not a typo - a buck and a half).  The shipping cost more than the
disks.

Anyway, if you're looking for employment for the old computers, you
might give linux a try.  I'm just learning but it works great and so far
has not crashed.  Only problem is not too many amateur radio programs,
but that is changing.  It's just a matter of time.  Lots of home office
type programs available - all free for the download.
