Looking for tips on interfacing an IC-756PROII for Writelg SO2R
operation (it will be on the right side of the console and
generally function as the S&P rig, FT-1000D will be on the left
and function as the run rig).

** I have the W5XD multi-keyer connected to my computer's COM1
and it's working fine.

** I have my computer's COM3 connected to the PROII via a CT-17
level converter running @ 9600 baud. Again, working fine (I
changed the PROII hex address to be the same as the plain vanilla
PRO). (I elected not to share a serial port for the W5XD keyer
and rig data as this isn't supported by my day-to-day logging
software DXbase 2003.)

QUESTION 1: what's the best way to have the computer key the PTT
line on the PROII for all modes of operation (CW, SSB, AFSK and
RTTY)?

QUESTION 2: what's the best way to send soundboard voice keyer
and AFSK signals to the PROII? Via pin 4 of the ACC(1)
connector? Would prefer a solution that will work for both SSB
voice keyer and AFSK data operation without reconfiguration of
cables. Are audio signals from ACC(1) affected by the MIC GAIN
and COMP pots (I tried following the ACC(1) and MIC wiring on the
PROII schematic but nearly went blind in the attempt)?

Thanks,
Bill AA6TT
