[WriteLog] OQP module problems

Yes George, I noticed exactly the same things and I agree with your
assessments.

I would add to your list though, the fact that the summary window did
not show the multiplier breakdown between CW and SSB. Since mults are
not band-related, additional columns or totals to show this would be
nice. And although there is no direct necessity for it, I found myself
laboriously counting the number of counties I still needed. Would be
nice to have a count like that.

Also, when working some of the many mobiles, it was difficult to
determine if working the station again was now a dupe. I found myself
entering the callsign, and then tabbing over to the county field to
enter the county, then tabbing off that to see if I got the dupe
message. Not sure how to avoid that one, though.

And while I'm at it, since in this contest packet was allowed (to
encourage participation), it would be nice for Out-of-State participants
if one could filter out those spots clearly non-Ohio. Add to that, the
ability in the mult window to distinguish between mobiles that have
changed county - this might encourage the spotting with format
K8MR/ERIE.

Subject: [WriteLog] OQP module problems

I experienced the following problems with the OQP contest module:

1.) Inconsistent operation of the Check Call window. Normal operation
of
the Check Call window shows all bands on which a station has been logged
once
the last character of the call sign has been entered on the CALL line.

During the OQP yesterday, I found that entering a call on the CALL line
would
cause inconsistent displays on the Check Call window. At times it would

correctly show all other bands on which the station had been logged. At
other
times, however, it would only show where the station had been logged on
one other
band when the space bar was hit to get to the NR entry. Then, once
ENTER or
"+" was hit to log the QSO (or F11 to delete the entry), only then did
the
Check Call window show ALL other bands on which the station had been
logged. I
have not experienced this behavior of the Check Call window with other
contest
modules. I never was able to discern what conditions would cause the
Check
Call window to respond one way or the other. Did anyone else notice
this?

2.) When you first open the OQP module, you must fill out the Contest
Parameter OHIO QSO PARTY SETUP screen with Call, Station Location and
Station
Information. Once you OK that screen, you then enter the contest
module. On two
occasions I had to close WL, and later open the OQP module with the same
file
name. I had to reenter all the information again on the OHIO QSO PARTY
SETUP
screen. IMHO, this step should be bypassed altogether when reopening an

existing contest file, since the information has already been supplied.

I appreciate knowing what other OQP'ers experienced with this module.
