Mike,  you didn't mention the OS version you're running, and whether or not
you "added" an additional card, added the card outright or replaced the
card.  I've seen several different machines react differently to the Linksys
cards.

Depending on the OS version, if its 95/98, start the machine in Safe Mode,
go into the device manager and check to see if there's any "ghost" devices.
Devices that you've had in the machine but didn't remove before physically
removing from the machine.  They'll show up grayed out in Devmgr.  If you're
certain the device is no longer present in the machine, remove them.  98 was
famous for doing this, you'd see 10 cdroms, 5 network cards, a slew of sound
devices, etc that either were removed or never present.

Same thing goes for 2k/Xp, except the steps are a bit different.  Follow

This will step you through checking the OS for any "stray" devices no longer
present.  The one place when doing 2k/XP to avoid removing gray devices
however is the "non plug-n-play" devices.  There's usually several devices
listed in that nest that aren't present.  Check the network card nest and
see whats in there.  You'll see anything and everything associated with that
card.

Finally, make sure all of the drivers are updated to the latest revision per
Microsoft.  If you run Windows Update, make sure you check the hardware
device drivers section to see that there are no Microsoft Signed drivers for
your hardware.  After  removing any devices, reboot and allow plugnplay to
repopulate anything you may have removed

Hello,

After installing a network card, Linksys 10/100 LAN Card, and going to
cable modem for internet connection, WL V10.44B locks up.  The same thing
happens with MMTTY V1.65.  Checked the various devices and according to the
computer there are no conflicts.  Other programs work okay.  Haven't
removed the network card and associated S/W to see if that allows the WL
and MMTTY to work.   Both WL and MMTTY worked without a problem before the
installation of the network card and going to cable modem internet
connection.

Any ideas on what should be checked or changed in the computer to get WL
and MMTTY to work with the network card?
