Further update:

Thanks to all who have provided even further 
info and prompt replies to my recent post.

I apologise for some of the incorrect info ...
I've been corrected in the fact that DX4WIN
does have the ability (in recent versions)
to log frequencies (versus just bands).

Alas, though I was not that impressed by the
limited DX4WIN download that I had installed ...
based on further comments I will likely 
invest in a copy of that programme, too ...
and run DX4WIN and DXBASE side-by-side,
to figure out which one I'll end up using.
