[WriteLog] Packet Gibberish

I am new to Writelog and have been frustrated with my attempts to get the
packet terminal working properly.

I get gibbersish on the screen, not clear text.  Two nights ago it worked
fine after I revised the ini file but not before and not since.
It works fine with TRX Manager's Terminal so I think the wiring, settings,
etc should be OK.

My configuration is:
Windows XP Home SP1
Writelog 1038.D
PK232MBX on Com 1
FT1000D on Com 2

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One more question, the one night it did work I had to type C k3gys in the
packet callout window to connect.  Is there not a connect window or dropdown
somewhere.
