Hi Dick,

I've seen 3-4 replies on the reflector on this, but wanted to do a summary
for how I use the Multiplier Window vs. the Check Call window to perhaps
clarify each use of the window.

I only bring up the Multiplier window when I want to check to see if I have
worked what has been on the bands over the contest. Like, did I work each US
zone in CQ WW? Or, I see that I've worked Aruba on every band but 20 meters,
that is a multiplier not to be missed.

The Check Call window is the operational window during the contest to
determine if you need the multiplier (zone, QTH, State, Province, whatever)
on a different band so that you can try and move the station in the heat of
battle. The implementation of it varies depending upon the contest
multipliers (e.g., you need the country but not the zone), but most times
you will see an 'OK' by the band you have worked the multiplier and
something different on the other bands.

For example, in the NAQP this past weekend, as soon as you put in the QTH,
you will get blanks if you need it on a band and 'OK' if you have worked the
QTH on the band. I put in K9OSH on 160 meters in WI into the log. Then I put
in WE9V for the call, Chad for the name, and as soon as I typed 'WI' in the
QTH field, 160 meters came up with the 'OK' and the rest of the bands were
blank.

The Check Call window is one of the really nice features of WriteLog in that
it combines both the call and the multiplier need in one window preserving
real estate on the screen. The larger Multiplier window with its multiple
colored display is to allow one to quickly see where multipliers are needed
by sections where you would be pointing your antenna.

Hope this helps...

We have got to have a change in the multiplier window. It is too hard when
you are running 150+ an hour to have to mouse up the mult window to see if
you need a mult on another band so you can move him. There is no room on
the screen for the window because it can not be sized. It should be part of
the main window and have the option of showing mults as worked or remaining
mults. I like the window we have so we can see all bands but it needs to be
sizeable either in the main program or separetly. There just is no room to
have it up.

I had suggested once in the past that in the window that shows the bands a
station has been worked that a flag could be set up there that would show
that the mult is needed on other bands. That is another option to conserve
space.
