I don't think a flame suit is needed for this one, but I disagree with the following:

I regularly use "record on the fly" when working split. I'd love more memories, but let's not lose the capability to put your split frequency into a memory easily.

Another thought I have is that recording all this stuff is an awful lot of work, and actually when recorded properly the individual characters don't sound all that bad. How about a sound recording utility in writelog that's smart enough to truncate (or recommend the truncation at least) the unnecessary stuff from a recorded character and would adjust the "level" of that recording to match some predetermined level. It might be able to record all 26 letters and 10 digits in one sweep and then automatically make the individual wav files - assuming all the characters were entered in order and only said once. This would allow much quicker setups for different ops at a multi station.

I think these innovations are great and should probably go foward but frankly, I'm never going to use all this fancy record every callsing in the world stuff. 26 characters and 10 numbers all truncated properly and level matched is enough work for me when I've got the rest of the station to maintain (not to mention the rest of life to live)!

Respectfully.
