[WriteLog] W5XD MK-1100 Multi-Keyer on usb/serial adaptor

I've tried to use the W5XD MK-1100 Multi-Keyer on a usb/serial adaptor (IOGEAR GUC232A).  What I've found is that the multi-keyer responds very slowly, i.e. when switching radios there is a .5 second or so dealy before the multi-keyer switches.  On an onboard serial port it's instantanious.  Has anybody come across a usb/serial adaptor, or other solution, that works well with the multi-keyer?
