[WriteLog] Networking Questions

A few weeks back I indicated that I have two computers that could network
fine with Writelog with static IP addresses and a crossover cable. However,
they would not work on my home network using wireless connections and
dynamic IP addresses.
I finally had a chance to look at this further. What I found is that the
computer will work just fine with the wireless connections to the home
network using static IP addresses. I then tried to change each of the
computers to dynamic IP addresses one at a time. The net result is that the
Win2K machine would not ever work if it was using a dynamic IP address. The
Win98 machine worked fine in either mode (as long as Win2K was static).
Does anybody know if there is another setting that is needed for Win2K
machines run Writelog networking using dynamic IP addresses? Could the use
of the wireless be a contributing factor? At this point it is more of a
point of curiosity since any foreseeable configurations that I might use
seem to work fine. However, it may be of interest to others as there seem
to be a number of people asking similar questions.
I would also note that I did not attempt to run Writelog unless I could
share files between machines in both directions and I rebooted both machines
after every network configuration change. All of the observations are
repeatable.
