[WriteLog] ARRL DX and more

That could be some of the problem, however I was dropping connections while
in another area of the house and the ham gear turned off. I am only running
low power presently. My guess is that there was too much delay in the
confirmations that I received the spot when they were coming in at 10 a
minute or so. I am hoping to upgrade to a new 1.5mb dsl service if
available and that might help.
Thanks for the input though. I will have to look at rfi issues when the amp
appears.

Most likely cause is the DSL line getting clobbered with RFI. I moved my
DSL modem and packet cluster node to the other side of the basement from the
station and used shielded cables, good grounds and a Tripp-Lite UPS/line
noise isolator to keep the RF out of the DSL line.
I can still get an occasional dropped connection because of RFI getting into
the logging PC's network, but the DSL line and my cluster node stay running.
This usually happens when tuning the amp or selecting the wrong antenna and
getting high SWR.
It would be nice if WriteLog had a re-connect for telnet connections,
something like CONPERM ON from the packet modem days.

Toward the end of the contest I turned on the packet. I have tried a couple
of telnet sites and keep getting disconnected. Is this a common problem? I
am on a DSL line and have not had any connection issues in the past. I
tried the K5DX cluster and K1TTT. Obviously the spots were coming in fast
and furious.
Is there a better way to connect to packet via the internet? I have Logic
for my normal everyday logging and that connection has never dumped. It
connects to the OH2 server.
