[Writelog] UTC Clock

I sync my computer to an atomic clock internet site (pick one, there's
lots of them) a few hours before the contest. Then I just work someone
and see what time Writelog uses for the contact in the log window.

If it agrees with the start time of the contest I'm set. I can tell what
time the contest is supposed to start by looking at the clock on my
windows toolbar. If you have any plan at all you know what the local
time is at the start of the contest. Since my wife and I have small
children it's pretty rare that I get to enter a contest at the start
time, but I always have time during the week to look up the contest
rules and see what time I could start.

I have my computer set to USA CST and have it adjust for Daylight
Savings time. Writelog takes care of adjusting the logging time.

I don't mess with any other settings.

It's worked for me since version 9 something so I don't think it's going
to break anytime soon...

Thanks,

George / KF9YR

Just buy a small (quarter size) digital
clock and glue it to the monitor .
