Since PC 2 is running Writelog, and since Writelog handles mic switching, why not plug the mic into PC2's mic input? Then, you can adjust the levels from PC2 for both the recorded and live transmissions.
You would treat the input to PC1 as the surrogate mic input on the radio.
This would enable Writelog to control when the mic is on or off as it would in local setup.
I hope you write an article with photos on how you do all of this.
