RE: [WriteLog] Writelog Problems

I am new to Writelog...just bought 10.49 and I have also been unable to
open RTTYRITE...MMTTY works ok as installed. I am computer illiterate like
most MD's... but here goes...

When I open the RTTYrite window from the Writelog pulldown ...it opens ok
on MMTTY where I have previously set it for the CQWWRTTY TST...but I notice
that the lower lines of the Mode pulldown are grey...BPSK to CW...I also
find that whenever I click on TU type to switch to another RTTY mode...I get
error messages...from the 2 AFSK lines on TUtype I get a quick flash , say
1-2 sec of a Runtime Error box ("R6025...pure virtual function call"
preceded by a Prog Path? ...too fast to read it all)...when I move to the
FSK lines , the reg soundboard FSK line flashes the RTTYrite control screen
, and then this message line appears ... "RTTYRITE MFC Application has
encountered a problem and needs to close"...further info on 2 following
screens includes..."Error sig...AppName:rttyri~1.exe App Vers:10.0.49.9
ModName: rttyri~1.exe Mod Ver:10.0.49.9 Offser:0001098e"...
and...the following will be included in this error
report..."C:\DOCUME~1\User\LOCALS~\Temp\WER43.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt"
Finally, when the Stereo FSK screen is clicked, RTTYrite control screen
comes up ok ands seems to receive a sig ok!!!

I am using a Pent 4, 2.5GHz with iteg soundboard, Soundmax ...a Rigblaster
Pro...a 1000D not wired for FSK . I installed SP2 but removed it thinking it
could contribute to this problem...so +/- SP1 at present ...

Hope this helps both me and you!

| The abbreviation for Yukon is YT as in Yukon territories, Some use QC
| French for Provence of Quebec. In the old days it used to be PQ.. Cheers.

| I scanned through the messages on this thread I see things like
| "WriteLog crashes" and "problem locating sound card". Maybe someone
| would like to post a message that says:
|
| 1. I clicked this button. (or I typed this) (or I edited the INI to say
| this)
| 2. I opened the RTTY screen using <however you did it>
| 3. A box appeared on my screen that said <whatever>
|
| This is my second request for such information. My previous email was
| sent directly to the reply address of one of the earlier posts and I have
| received no answer.
|
| It might be a good idea to post the message I request above to the
| reflector,
| as the postings on the reflector that folks are concluding they all have
| the same problem may be in for a surprise. FWIW, I don't see enough
| information to conclude there is only one problem that everyone shares.

| I wanted to log shorter off-times manually in WL for CQP. The help file
| says:
|
|
| To manually enter off time for a contest, you don't use this dialog box.
| Just scroll to the QSO where you want to show a time off, and click in the
| column labelled "TIME-OFF". Type in the starting and ending times of the
off
| period in UTC.
|
| I couldn't find this column and can't see how to create it.

| Wayne,
|
| I open WriteLog (any contest. It doesn't matter)
| I select "Window " > "RTTY Window"
|
| Then RTTYWrite opens.
|
| I select "TU Type" > "Sound Board AFSK" or "Sound Board FSK" (doesn't
matter
| which)
|
| Then I get the following message:
|
| "Program Error"
|
| "RTTYRI~1.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You
will
| need to restart the program. An error log is being created. OK "
|
| For what it's worth, if I pick any other TU type , the program tries to
| initialize it. However, I don't have any other TU types.
|
| I am using the latest version of WriteLog (10.49D)
| I am running Windows 2000, service pack 4. 750 meg processor with 1 GB or
| ram.
| Mother board internal sound board disables in BIOS. (Was also tried with
no
| difference in symptoms.)
| I am using a Creative Labs SoundBlaster sound card.
|
| What else can I tell you.
|
| I also have a problem with the CW module. Described in another posting.

|
| I have a problem with the RTTY window when using it for decoding CW...
|
| 1) Open WriteLog 10.49D with any contest
| 2) Select Window, RTTY Window
| 3) Select Mode, CW
|
| Now, as long as no CW is actually coming through the sound card interface,
| everything works fine. I can switch to the log window, type in a call,
| without issue.
|
| However, if CW is being decoded, and I switch to the log window to type in
a
| call, WriteLog exits as soon as I type the first character. The RTTY
window
| decoding CW remains open decoding CW. No error message is displayed at
all
| and no event shows up in the event viewer.
|
| I'm running WindowsXP Home, SP2 on Compaq Presario 2100 Laptop.
