Rick,
  I don't use Writelog, but do use a similar process with my own software,
cqpwin.  I find it's quite easy just to record my own files with a wav
editor (I use Goldwave), then massage them for timing, volume, etc and save
them.  Plus then you get your own voice with your own mike.  I'd be happy to
supply more info on the techniques that work best if you are interested.
