I'd say that was a $50 answer to a lot of $30 upgrade users questions.
(Me included!)

If we were talking a $300 or more software package written by a staff
of programmers in Redmond or wherever I'd say there might be some
legitimate complaints.  And if we all paid $300 for WriteLog Wayne
might be able to quit his day job, relax and work on WL updates!

when I first started messing with WL at a friends multi's about 1997.

And if you check out or install not only the OS but the software the
night before the contest and get burned when the contest starts
....... well, you probably deserve it!  (Me included, and I've been
burned .... once!).
