[WriteLog] Initial setup - missing dll file

This happened to me not long ago on XP.
Sounds like you need to up grade the MS Installer.
You should get it from Windows Update, but if you
don't, the file name you need is:
WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
and it's 2526KB for Windows 2000 SP3 and above.

Like you, I did not have any problem installing on 98SE.
