[WriteLog] MFC42.dll

All of a sudden over a week ago I started getting Illegal operation
from MFC42.dll
when I try to open a 10.59D log or when I try to open a new log ....
 I don't think anything changed  on the old Win 98SE logging PC.
C:\Windows\System\MFC42.dll is dated 04-06-00
I've also got one dated 08-05-97
Neither of them work!
I even tried un-installing & re-installing WriteLog.

Is there a better MFC42.dll?
Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?
