[WriteLog] USB Sound and Rig Interfaces

I have RigExpert working with Writelog for over a year and with MixW for
more than 2 years... now...

... It works great...and was easy to set up...and in fact, I own a couple of
them....

BUT I have no interest in CW so I can't testify to how it works for CW....

What are you trying to do? And what was the difficulty you encountered?

BTW... External USB Sound Card Devices such as Rig Expert work substantially
better (10db or so) than internal sound card on digital signals.. in
parallel experiments against a RigBlaster.. I could detect PSK31 & RTTY
Signals 100% copy with the RigExpert when the RigBlaster had zero copy...
which is why the RigExperts have been selling so well...

Have not tried the latest Microham device.. but if it contains an external
sound card, then you should have similar excellent results...

Jim,

After multiple days of experimenting and un-answered emails to the Rig
Expert User Group, I have never been able to get Rig Expert to work with
Writelog. I consider myself a Writelog power user and very comfortable
around technical issues. I have been able to get Rig Blaster to work, keying

CW and RTTY with their connections. But, I have gone back to using Rig
Blaster's Rig Runner with separate connections for Rig Control and CW keying

(LPT port) as my Desktop computer can support all these configurations.

Please let me know if you find a solution for Rig Expert as it has turned
out to be a very expensive toy sitting on my shelf. FYI - Don't expect any
local support for Rig Expert for anything other than MixW software.

Good Luck, Irwin KD3TB
