[WriteLog] Belkin F5U409 Question.

I've read numerous postings related to USB/serial adapters, but I haven't
found one that addresses the problem that I appear to be having.

I'm using a Belkin F5U409 adapter, with the goal of doing rig control
(FT1KMP) and WriteLog generated serial port DTR CW from my notebook computer
(Dell Precision M90, WinXP Pro).

The computer, rig and CW all work perfectly when a docking-station port
expander serial port is used instead of the Belkin F5U409. The Belkin
F5U409 installs correctly and talks RS-232 with other simple serial devices.

With the Belkin F5U409 creating the serial port, and WriteLog set to use the
Belkin F5U409 port (COM2 in my case, COM1 is the port expander serial port),
I find the following results using an LED RS-232 tester:

1) WriteLog successfully sends queries to the FT1KMP on signal TXD,
but the rig never replies on RXD.

2) WriteLog does not send CW via the DTR signal. DTR remains
unasserted at all times, regardless of whether WriteLog is running or not.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Jim, W8WTS.
