Congrats to get the F5U103 to work with XP. I've never been able to get mine to work on XP Pro. When using the F5U103, it was the
only time I ever got the blue screen of death with XP.
I agree with Keith. Use the COM port for FSK and the USB adapter for radio control. If for some reason you really want to get the
USB adapter working with FSK, try using WriteLog's Software-generated FSK feature.
See http://www.rttycontesting.com/softfsk/software_generated_fsk.html for details. I've tested software-generated FSK with a couple
of later model USB adapters and it works fine.

Jim,
It's generally best to use the serial port to generate FSK rather than the USB adapter. The timing issues in the USB adaptors cause
some problems and, in most cases, the drivers don't support the baud rate needed for FSK.
Several people did experiments a few years ago with the Belkin devices and they mostly did OK at generating FSK. I think there were
some versions (identifiable by a number inside the shell) that failed a lot. I think it was John WA9ALS that had the results
published on his website. I have several of the devices and they were fine (for FSK) for 30 minutes or so, and then they crashed
the OS. They seemed to work reliably for things like rig control.

Trying to help a friend with a issue. The computer is an XP machine. Using Writelog 10.62H with a Belkin USB Adapter, the AF4Z
Multi-Modem to generate FSK. The Multi-Modem is setup as a Dumb Terminal. Rig control is being accomplished via a serial port on
the computer.
This setup seems to be decoding just find. However, It appears that when sending an f-keys that it will often (not allways) shift
the diddle one or two times and then unkey the transmitter.
It does display the f-key contents in the Rttyrite window but does not send it... The Alt-K function appears to be functioning
correctly, but seemed that one or twice the transmitter would unkey for some no reason before the ESC key is hit or the Alt-K again.
I guess I am just wondering if there is an entry that has to be in the writelog.ini file for this USB adapter?
We are thinking about switching the RTTY setup to the comport port and putting the rig control on the Belkin adapter.
Any help here!.. Thanks
Jim/KC4HW
