[WriteLog] Comport problem

My faithful 7 year old HP finally died.  I moved my VSComm PCI card with 2 serial comports to a slightly newer HP. When the system detected the new hardware, it merrily led me through the install process.  I thought all was well.  When I went to the Device Manager, I found the system had assigned comport 14 and 15 to these two serial ports.
 
Writelog only will recognize comports 1 through 8, right? Anyone got an idea for a work around on this?  In the old computer, these usually came up as ports 4 and 5. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
