[WriteLog] PC Generates

I concur with Mike's message, but opted for a different hardware solution.
I installed a MicroHam MicroKeyer II about a year and a half ago and have
never regretted the expense. Prior to the MicroKeyer II I ran WriteLog
under "PC Generates" with WinME, WinXP and Vista (32 bit). My PC to radio
interface was through a native serial port, with ME and XP, and a USB to
serial adapter with Vista, to a RigBlaster Plus.

Under all these combinations of OS and PC interfaces, and through multiple
versions of WriteLog, I would experience "occasional" CW gibberish
transmissions. To my knowledge all of these instances have been history
since adding the MicroKeyer II and switching from "PC Generates" to "K1EL
Winkey". The MicroKeyer uses a direct USB connection so no serial ports or
USB to serial adapters are needed. As a bonus the MicroKeyer II let me say
goodbye to AFSK and hello to FSK without doing a thing except selecting RTTY
on the Icom 7600.

I've noticed others with a MicroKeyer II have posted that they are having
gibberish and delay problems, but I think all of these have Win7 as the OS.
Based on my experience with the MicroKeyer II and Vista Home Premium I'm
betting the problem resides with Win7 and not MicroHam.
