[WriteLog] wlog and usb to serial adapter

Howie,

I went through the same problem with a laptop this summer when trying to 
get ready for the IOTA contest. I tried two different adapters and both 
failed. I ended up using a different program to log with. Unfortunate 
because I really like writelog - I do use WL on my home machine.
