[WriteLog] pk232 problem with clone window

Hi Don.....I tried what you said but no go.....it still cant seem to get the
pk232 into host mode for some reason....it fails to initialize!
This setup has been working for me now for years and all of a sudden when
the cqww rtty test was on, I couldn't get the clone to work and I actually
had a hyperterminal window open instead just to receive on.
I also noticed the other day, trying to do the similar thing with N1MM and
its clone receive window, that the configurator there says my com1 port is
already used by something and it wont let me open that window either.
I have tried to check for phantom use of com1 and the result was nothing
seen/found....dont know if the two probs are related. Why can hyperterminal
work with com1 and the two logging programs not?? Is there a manual way to
put the pk232 into host mode?? I have pulled the jumper and reset the pk232
to no avail as well. Hopefully someone has a solution.
Thanks again for the help

When using a PK232, you have to edit the writelog.ini file. I found this in
the reflector archives which might help:

http://lists.contesting.com/archives//html/WriteLog/2003-09/msg00034.html

If your writelog.ini file does not have a [PORTS] section, you may need to
create one. Open writelog.ini in notepad. Anywhere in the
file, add these lines EXACTLY AS THEY ARE TYPED HERE:

[PORTS]
Com1=9600,n,8,1,

If you have a [PORTS] section, make the appropriate changes to the Com1
entry if there is a Com1 entry. It's possible there is an
"x" at the end of the entry. If so, delete the "x", but leave the comma at
the end.

Let us know if this works or not. This was from previous versions of WL. I
don't know if anything has changed as far as a [PORTS]
section is concerned.

Hello..I am trying to use a pk232 in a receive only situation in a clone
window but

when I try to pick the comport and tnc type I get a message that its trying
to initialize host mode

but then errors out saying "pk232 initialization failed.try again??"

I don't know why this is happening..I can copy rtty no probs using
hyperterminal with comport 1

set to 9600 baud 8,n,1 but now it wont work within writelog.

As a side note..this configuration has worked before for a long time so
something has changed

but I cant figure it out. Any help is most appreciated.

Thanks
