Sometimes this happens, here is something you can try, it has worked for me!
Using NotePad edit C:\Windows\writelog.ini, or whereever you INI file is
located, as follows:
In the file, go to the section labeled [Ports].
Look at the line for the Com port you intend to use. It will look like this:
COM1:=9600,n,8,1,x
Check to be sure all parameters are correct, then Delete the final x (but not
the comma). It should look like this:
COM1:=9600,n,8,1,
Click on File, Save. Then open WriteLog;

Stop the insanity!
Please do not add me to any distribution lists (Joke, Stories or Junk) without
my permission.

Subject: [WriteLog] 7600 & Writelog
I'm snowed!
I bought a new IC-7600 today and installed it in the shaced and connected it to
my PC. Everything works- MMTTY, MRP DXLab Suite - except WriteLog. I'm using
V11.07D and I don't think it's seeing the 7600. I can't figure out how to enter
the new hex address and I'm guessing that might be the problem. I entered "Icom
IC-7600=0x7A" in the .ini file but that didn't help.
In WriteLog I'm not getting a frequency or band: I't just shows "KHz LSB" CW
receive works which means the sound card is OK but there is no CW transmit and
no RTTY.
I thought it might be possible that I needed the 7600 USB driver so I installed
that. No change.
I've Googled every possible combination of 7600 and WriteLog I could think off
but haven't found anything that helps. Can anyone help me figure this out?
Thanks,
Aubrey N3BM
