Mark,

Welcome to the world of RTTY and WriteLog. You should thoroughly enjoy
using this mode with a great contest logger like WriteLog. A lot of your WL
and RTTY questrions can be answered by checking the web site
http://rttycontesting.com/ by Don AA5AU. Don has created the go to "bible"
for information about using WL and the RTTY mode. You will be sure to pick
up many valuable tips and tricks here.

I've inserted some comments below in your original to address some of your
questions.

73,
Gary AL9A

Yes, your Cabrillo log will be ok without a score as the contest robot will
do that anyway. To see your score, as well as a summary of all your
contacts by band, go to the main menu items in WriteLog and click
Window/Band Summary. The Band Summary window will update your score real
time as the contest progresses and you add QSOs to the log. Should you make
some change to the log while under way click on Contest/Recalculate Score to
force a score update.

I'm not sure why there is not a Cabrillo option for some contest modules. A
guess would be that at the time the contest module was created the contest
sponsors did not have a Cabrillo spec developed yet that could be
incorporated. From time to time updates are made to the various WL contest
modules to compensate for changes in the scoring used by the contest
organizers. It may be that someday one of those fixes would also turn on
the Cabrillo output option. In the meantime you have already discovered the
adif2cabr converter, which is an excellent way of creating a Cabrillo from
an adi file if necessary. If you get your contest score from the Band
Summary window above you can enter it into the adif2cabr converter when
creating the Cabrillo file or just add it later with a text editor.

I would recommend purchasing the current full version of WL. Not only do
you get the latest features, bug fixes and a year of free updates, but most
queries and responses posted on this reflector will be about the latest
version of WL, not a version years out of date. You will find there are
many very knowledgable folks here quite willing to help resolve issues you
may have, but it would be very beneficial if you are running a more current
version of the software.
