I had the same problem installing Writelog on my XYL PC for Fieldday last week.
I found if I went into the Writelog Setup from the Entry window and changed something, then did a 'save configuration' that
then Writelog.ini file now showed up in the virtual store under usename fieldday.

Subject: [WriteLog] strange problem? no writelog.ini

Gang,

I am having yet another "senior" moment.

I have been reinstalling all my contest software in a second partition of Windows 7 64 bit OS. The first partition is the regular Windows 7 64 bit OS that I have been using for several months now. I was trying for a "clean" install without all the mistakes I have made on the first partition.

However, when I got to install Writelog today (11.10 Full and then 11.11) I find out that I have no writelog.ini what so ever. Nothing was written in the appdata/virtual store/ folder. When I go to save the writelog configuration nothing is written to the c: drive. The item on the Writelog menu to "edit writelog.ini" reports the path is invalid.

Even when I create a "windows" folder under "virtual store" and put a writelog.ini in it, when writelog restarts it does not read that file.

I have turned UAC off on this partition. Is this somehow needed to get write permission to these folders?

What else am I forgetting?
