[WriteLog] Solid State Drive ?

Yes, I've migrated both of my old systems to SSD and it makes a
significant difference in boot times as well as response when
dealing with large logs.

The other thing you can do to maximize performance in a new system
is install as much primary RAM as you can afford (and use a 64 bit
operating system).  16 GB is not "too large" as it will keep swapping
to disk to an absolute minimum unless your programs are complete
memory hogs.
