[WriteLog] TR: new mode indication function

Not to belabor the topic, but I want to voice my vote to leave this mode
issue alone. WL doesn't have different operating modes as "RUN" vs "S&P"
and I like it that way.  My little brain has enough trouble keeping stuff
straight, and different operating modes simply cause QLF problems. I've
tried it .. been there and done that.

OK, The original suggestion was not to add "modes", but to indicate such in
the log. I get that, and I think (hope) that has been answered already.
While that doesn't hurt the WL user, it WILL hurt the log checker because
it changes the log format. I've spent many many hours fixing unusual or
modified log formats prior to log checking, so please don't do that. You
wouldn't believe all the funky log formats (and errors) that I see.
