[WriteLog] problem with windows 7

I just got a win 7 machine and having a problem getting the radio to talk
to writelog. I'm using a usb to serial adapter and have it all set up. 
I can send cw to the rig the rig keys up and sends code but when I try to connect to the radio 
is says no rig ? Using a IC-756 and have it configured the same as on the win XP machine but 
cant get it to talk in win 7?
