How many messages do you need? In DXpedition mode I program around 5
messages for CW and zero for SSB. I have never operated RTTY in DXpedition.
I suppose if you were careful and did not need to send a lot of extra
information you could have RTTY and CW messages in the same 9 message
program. You could use shift messages for extra ones that you need less
often.

Yes, Gary's method is fine and that's what I have also done. Where it can
be problematic is when you are in a multi-op situation with multiple modes
and operators with varying level of familiarity with Writelog. Loading a
dummy message file is easy for the experienced Writelog op, not so easy and
foolproof otherwise.

I really wanted this feature when trying to manage mode and operator
changes at the multi-op W1AW/7 operation. If I wasn't there at the moment
that a mode/operator change was wanted all heck often broke loose. Having
the message change "just happen" with mode change would have eliminated one
way that things could be messed up.

Other than that, no big deal. ;) 73 jeff wk6i
