[WriteLog] writelog and windows 8

Current version runs fine - in the process of migrating the shack
computer to Windows 8.1, moving the old Windows 7 system to a back-up
(test absurd things and don't want to crash my main system) role and
dumping the last of the XP/2000 systems.  There has been no issue with
WriteLog on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1.
