[WWYC] IOTA-Contest R3xxx-calls ?

Hi,

has anybody an answear to my question:

in the iota contest suddenly many R3xxx - Calls appeared (i worked maybe 30), 
all just gave serial numbers up to maybe 30, then they changed the call. It was 
the same thing last year, when there appeared many R4-calls, but only for a 
limited time, and steadily changing the calls... what's the sense of that?? 
kinda russian wrtc?? ;)
