SCC RTTY Championship
Organized by the SLOVENIA CONTEST CLUB
co-sponsored by Svet Elektronike Journal
1. OBJECTIVE
For amateur radio stations around the world to contact as many other amateur
radio stations as possible on HF bands using RTTY Baudot mode.
2. CONTEST PERIOD
Last full weekend in August,
from 12.00 UTC on Saturday to 11.59 UTC on Sunday.
3. BANDS
All amateur bands from 3.5 through 28 Mhz, except WARC bands (80, 40, 20,
15, 10 m).
4. ENTRY CATEGORIES
Single Operator, All Bands, High Power
(maximum 1500 W output)
Single Operator, All Bands, Low Power
(maximum 100 W output)
Multi Operator, Single Transmitter, All Bands, High Power
(maximum 1500 W output)
Multi Operator, Single Transmitter, All Bands, Low Power
(maximum 100 W output)
ONLY ONE transmitted signal is allowed at any time for all categories.
Single Op: Only one operator is allowed to perform all of the operating and
logging functions and only one call-sign is allowed from a particular radio
station. Use of DX CLUSTER, spotting nets or any other forms of alerting are
not permitted for single operator category.
Multi Op: More than one person operates, logs, checks for duplicates, use of
a spotting net, etc.
5. EXCHANGE
Single op. stations must transmit RST and four-digit number of the year the
amateur radio licence was FIRST officially issued (e.g. 599 1983) to the
operator.
Multi op. stations must transmit RST and four-digit number of the year the
amateur radio licence to the club or to the operator which callsign is used
was first officially issued.
6. MULTIPLIERS
Multipliers are different four-digit numbers, meaning the four digits of the
year of operator's first official amateur radio license. The multiplier
(XXXX) is counted once per band.
7. QSO POINTS
One (1) QSO point for contacts within your own DXCC or WAE country;
Two (2) QSO points for contacts within your own continent but outside your
own DXCC or WAE country;
Two (2) QSO points for contacts between different W, VE, VK, ZL, ZS, JA and
PY call areas, LU provinces and Asiatic Russia UA9/UAO oblasts;
Note: USA stations are kindly asked to use '/x', if operating outside their
own callsign area (K5ZD/1).
Three (3) QSO points for contacts outside your own continent.
8. SCORE
The final score is the sum of QSO points from all bands multiplied by the
sum of multipliers from all bands.
9. BAND CHANGES
There is a restriction for band changes for all categories. Ten (10) band
changes per full hour (i.e. 11:00 - 11:59 UTC) are allowed.
10. AWARDS
Certificates will be awarded to:
Top scores in each of the four (4) entry categories.
Each entrant who makes at least 200 QSOs.
The Contest Committee may, upon its own judgment, award certain number of
additional certificates in each entry category.
Plaques will be awarded to the first place finishers in each of four (4)
entry categories.
Slovenia Contest Club encourages clubs and individuals to sponsor these and
other plaques.
11. LOG INSTRUCTIONS
We will accept electronic logs only (via e-mail or floppy disk). If you are
logging on the paper you have to make a fair copy into the file by yourself.
Preferred format is CABRILLO.
Files shall be named: "callsign.LOG" and "callsign.SUM".
Single operator and multi single logs must be submitted in chronological
order.
All logs must show: band, time in UTC, callsign, sent and received
exchanges.
A summary sheet including all relevant data needed to calculate final score,
description of radio station, used power output, name, family name, address
and year of operators first licence in block capitals and statement of
compliance with rules must accompany each log.
12. PENALTIES
For unmarked duplicate QSOs, broken calls, bad exchanges and QSOs, which do
not appear in correspondent's log, QSO points for each such error will be
removed.
10% or more bad contacts, or violation of contest rules shall result in
dropping participant from the classification. Other reasons, like
non-submission of PC files or other information requested from participant,
could also lead to dropping the participant from the classification.
13. DISQUALIFICATION
Violation of contest rules, unsportsmanlike conduct or very high percentage
of unverifiable QSOs will be deemed sufficient cause for disqualification.
Disqualified operator will not be classified in SCC RTTY Championship
standings in the year following disqualification.
14.
ALL DECISIONS OF THE CONTEST COMMITTEE ARE FINAL.
15. DEADLINE
All submitted logs must be postmarked no later than September 15th of that
year.
Indicate SCC RTTY CHAMPIONSHIP and ENTRY CATEGORY on the envelope.
