But Thomas, you have to remember that OZ is about 500 km (or so) south from 
here and you got Atlantic Ocean next door. That´s the main reason why we have 
to build bigger antennas and higer towers ;)

For example in ARRL DX Contest SSB this year I operated full time (call OH5W) 
with 3el yagi up abt 40m and 1kW power and had 300 Qs. I´m quite sure that I 
could had made same score from OZ with 2el and 100W. 
But I´m not bitter ;)
