DXpedition!

Me, Hrle and some others including OH1NOA were talking about this subject on 
the #WWYC channel. Timo (NOA) is a very known contester and have been 
traveling and worked contests (latest from CT8T) from different places 
around the world. He thought that CT3 would be a great place to operate from 
and we could probably get some help from the CQ9K guys. Madeira is like a 
tourist place so its not very expensive to travel there (atleast not from 
SM...about 350-400euro which is about the same in dollars here). The problem 
is that during major contests (like the CQWW) most of the places are already 
occupied during these big events and one proposal that Timo came with was 
the ARRL CW contest. That contest is a great contest and I think its a great 
idea. The IARU as someone mentioned (think it was Chris) is just 24 hours 
and in the middle of the summer. That contest is also one that dosent 
benefit DXpeditions as much as others where we can be a rare multiplyers.

Im willing to go and pay for my own ticket (depends thought if its after the 
summer which I guess it is) and join the team. Our category totally depends 
on what place we get. If we can borrow a quite good qth with atleast some 
radiogear and have enough ops we could do a M/M. Otherwise M2 or M/S are 
probably better ideas. As someone mentioned earlier (Chris this time to I 
think) its our first DXpedition and we shouldnt take water above our heads 
and be to optimistic about our skills.

I will go to bed now but this is a great idea and I hope we can pull it!
