Hey guys,

Was on 10 today, calling CQ, working people while writing up 500
pse QSL's from CQWW that I've been putting off. Got called from a
loud loud station +30 and instantly knew he was a contester. Had a
long conversation with him, forget his call right now, shack is in
the back of the yard, but towards the end he recommended I check out
you guys.

Looked at your page and you guys look very impressive.

I was gearing up to be very into contesting about two years ago, than
college happened, than all that stuff happened, and kind of got out of
it. However am very charged up and interested again. Never really lost
it.

I'm attending school at GVSU near Grand Rapids, Mich. My station is at
my parents home in Avon, Indiana, about a 5 hour drive south. That will
probably make contests hard, but that's okay. I'm trying to find some
other stations to do some SO from. I really want to build my individual
skills right now, so think I should stray away from Multi for right now.

At home I have a C31XR @ 100', tribanders fixed SA/EU @ 80/40'
respectively. Right now I have wires on 40/80, various things, all over
the place. However, yesterday I bought a MAG-240N from Force 12, and
today I just picked up 90' of more tower to go next to my old 100'
tower. On that I'll put the 2el 40, plus a C3E at about 95'. Hopefully
I'll be SO1T2R (Single Op, 1 xmitter, 2 rcvrs) by contest season.

Not doing much for field day. I've done the intensive thing before,
and did okay. Think we placed about 11th in our class. Think I might
get on as a 1D from home for a while, than go outside, dig holes for
the tower. Mix concrete, get it all set up so I can raise it perphaps
the next week.

Nonetheless, glad to see you guys here. I'm 23, so will be with you
for 7 more years. Hopefully by than I'll be busting into the top 10
boxes. I've been adding 100' of tower, and $1,000 dollars of antenna
every two years, so at that rate I should have 400' of tower and at
least some stacks somewhere by the time I'm 30.. ;)

Lets go rock the boat.
