Hey folks,
few things related to bunch of stuff...
1. IOTA 2003 Contest results are out
http://www.rsgbhfcc.org/
2. WAE RTTY this weekend:
Since our Club is just like half million behind 2nd placed Club there is a
good chance that if many of us shows up on the air this weekend we actually
end up right behind BCC in the final results. So, guys.. start interfacing
you PCs and RTXs and lets make a score! I'll be on for as much as I'll be
able to... I will also be QRV on ke9r.com node during the time I'm on the
air.. so look for 9A7P this weekend again.
3. wwyc.net has new feature - personal mail
When you see someone online and want to tell him something or you want to
send a message to a WWYC member you can now use Personal Mail on our
website. It's really great option as you can send message to a specific
user, to admins and to all.
4. Last for now but not the least important thing is WWYC Meeting in 2004.
In summer 2003, some of the WWYCers met in Croatia, had a great time and now
many more are asking to do a real, more official WWYC meeting. By many
opinions it would be something like a big party, but also a formal stuff -
some presentations by our members; DXpeds, contesting stuff - about 2-3 days
in total.
There are for now two options that are considering as possible:
a) Friedrichshafen 2004 - probably the best choice since there is a
possibility that many WWYCers would come, then on the other hand I dont know
if there would be possibility to organize some kind of a presentations,
special place for a party etc.. maybe Munich part of WWYC could help us with
this?!
b) Croatia 2004 - another possibility is comming to Croatia - the date for
this event would be between IARU and IOTA since there is many of people
going to Croatia for IOTA. There is a chance for WWYCers to get into some
IOTA team, having a nice holidays in Croatia (since this is a touristic
region) and of course meet other youngsters.
Let us know how many of you are interested in the meeting... I hope we can
make up 20-30 WWYCers for the first meeting, afterwards when other WWYCers
would see the fun they are missing it would be pretty much obvios to mark
next WWYC meeting to their calendars. For now if you want to know how it was
with only few WWYCers see IARU/Summer 2003 pictures on my site... imagine
then how would it be if there was more of us!!!
73 for now,
