[WWYC] WWYC Meeting

Hey lids, lidas and gentlemen,

we (at 9A7P) had our first brainstorm meeting about WWYC Meeting last Friday
but since I'm quite busy with school last days I'm a bit slower with writing
and planning things. Guys are warmed up and ready to go with this!

We made some main conclusions that we'll be working on. Most important thing
that we decided is that the meeting will take place in Pazin city, hometown
of 9A7P. There was other QTH on the coast in plan but since nothing is sure
100% in this place we decided to do it here. We will have better logistical
support and in general prizes are cheaper then on the coast. Since we expect
20-30 non-9A visitors we're too small for renting some small hotel and big
enough to make it here.

We have general plan about 5 days visitors are expected to be here.
Officially meeting will be the first 2 days and last 3 days are reserved for
partying/contesting/sightseeing.

It will all start on Wednesday 21st July 2004 due IOTA Contest that is in
that weekend, it will be open for everyone and there will be no tickets to
enter! Just a good will!

PLAN

Wednesday 21st July 2004:
17:00 - opening stuff
19:00 - first presentations
21:00 - opening party

Thursday 22nd July 2004:
09:00 - I hope to put FCC exams here! We're working on that!
12:00 - presentations
14:00 - lunch
16:00 - presentations
21:00 - pizza night

Friday 23rd July 2004:
10:00 - tour around Istra (Porec, Rovinj, Pula.. lunch in one of those
cities)
21:00 - returning and party

- we will all be in one bus, tour guide will be 9A6XX or SP5HNK as she knows
it better then I do :-)

Saturday 24th July 2004:
10:00 - for those that wont be anywhere on IOTA - crazy games
14:00 - lunch
16:00 - departing to Rovinj for summer/beach activities
22:00 - Rovinj: Entertainment Center Monvi - you can have dinner here and a
lot of fun till the morning hours
04:00-06:00 - going back to Pazin

Sunday 25th July 2004:
10:00 - possible morning picnic
18:00 - after the guys get together after IOTA Contest we start final
closing ceremony and party

Monday 26th July 2004
09:00 - coffee and saying goodbye!

ACCOMMODATION

In Pazin there is one real hotel to stay. It cost between 22 and 27 euros
per person depending if you take single or double bed room. There is some
other places offering apartments and so on but as earlier you reserve your
place better for you. I dont think we'll have more then 50 international
people to handle (tho who knows?).

Those that have this prizes of accommodation too high should ask me for
further details because we have other solutions on our mind.

FOOD AND DRINKS

We will offer only drinks at our place. Maybe some sandwiches now and then,
depending on the available staff and money. Pazin has few nice places with
decent lunch for small money - 20 kunas or 2,5-3 euros, also there is fine
restaurants around with higher prizes like 10-15 euros for meal (local
specialties). Typical big pizzas are around 4-5 euros.

We will sell some main drinks at our Club - where the meeting will be. The
prizes of our drinks will be 50% lower then in any bars around city and 75%
lower then on the coast. This means you will drink 0,5L of beer for 1 euro
or 8 kunas and 3 dcl of coke for same money. As much as you drink here you
will help us to cover expenses (we will earn about 15% on every drink).

As you know WWYC has no funds for money so it's all mostly on it's members!

Presentations I have pretty much to count on are:

- HC8N or E44 - Galapagos M/M operating or Palestine by HA1AG
- 3B9C - Rodrigues Island (this yet have to happen) by M0GMT
- CT8T - EU record breaking by OH1NOA
- 5U5Z - Niger M/M by G0MTN
- WRTC 2002 DVD

I have about 5-6 others in mind so I think there will be between 5 and 7
DXped/contest presentations.

Main organizers of this event will be: 9A6XX, 9A5AEI, 9A8MM and 9A6NCM with
help of other 9A7P members that will be around Pazin in July.

Those that cannot participate this event can also help with money or other t
hings. All help is more then welcome because I repeat again WWYC is totally
free Club without any foundations! If you want to help in any way contact
