[WWYC] BCC PED Offline Contest - QRT!

Ladies and Gentlemen, dear lids,

incredible but true, it's more than seven years ago (April 2001) that
the BCC PED Offline Contest was started by WWYCer Toby, DH1TW. Back
then (for the young greenhorns among us who don't know) PED by JE3MAS
was what MorseRunner is today: a state-of-the-art contest simulator
used not only by contesters around the world to improve their CW
skills but also in the IARU HST competitions. 

PED, and the BCC PED competition in particular, was a great source of
motivation to many of the (not only WWYC) folks to improve their CW
skills. Incredible scores have been posted, and contrary to the
neverending 1h-format of MR, it featured quick and aggressive 10
minute attempts in both the multi- and single-caller categories.

PED was a DOS program which worked quite well under Windows 95 and 98
but after Win 2000, it didn't work properly anymore. DOSBox and
similar emulators helped it to survive a little longer, but over a
year after the last submitted score, it's time to retire the BCC PED
contest.

I took over maintainership of the toplist in 2003 from Stefan, DL1IAO,
who took it over from Toby, DH1TW in 2001. I remember some weeks in
which heavy battles were fought; in which the top three positions
changed a few times, and when the current list maintainer (to ensure
integrity of the list) sent his PED checksums to the other top guys to
ensure a clean competition.

The BCC PED contest is officially over now. Following, the (now final)
top ten scores of the two categories, Single-Caller and Multi-Caller.
